Who am I?

Well, like most people, that's an ever evolving answer. But I'm currently 26, living abroad in Morocco, and questioning my career choices. I've been a teacher and a student for most of my adult life, making me most definitely a nerd. I love to ask questions about too many things, and more frequently than not, I find myself frustrated by the lack of hours in the day that there are to do all the things. This includes sitting out on a patio for long hours, reading, writing, or talking endlessly with friends and family who like to do the same.

Why a blog?

About a year and a half ago now, I left behind a lot of things when I left the USA for a life abroad- family, friends, job, home, routines, and many micro-influences, all for a fresh start. I left becuase it had always been a life-long dream of mine, and I knew I needed to create a different sort of opportunity for myself to grow in ways I knew I desperately needed.

I did it. I currently am doing it, and it's not as glamorous and easy of a path that a lot of influencers online make it seem like. It's been challenging to say the least. One challenge is the people. As a traveler, moving as much as I do, I miss the regular connections with friends and family from home and ones that I've met along the way. I hope that this website could be a chance to stay more connected.

Another challenge, and possibly heavier purpose to this blog, is how the changes I have made over the last years have launched me into a deeply altering phase of my life. This phase is one that has forced me to take a long look at the fundamental core of my identity and the path I want to be on in my life. There is so much I want to accomplish, learn, and become, but It's easy for me to hide. Not just from others, but from myself.

Sharing publicly has never been easy for me, but it's something I've secretly always wanted to practice and get better at. I'm not really sure why. Maybe that's something I'll figure out here. I decided to give myself this webpage as a challenge. This exists because I want to give myself a chance to follow my interests, develop my voice, and see where that leads.
